There are many species of bamboo to meet requirement as textile, clothes & fashion, papers...Belong to its own structure,  hollow bamboo species are selected to make things which mentioned above.

Depend to harvesting time, timber bamboo could have small&large diameter(5-inch to 7-inch diameter) and 60 foot-90 foot length in general. Hollow bamboo is the fastest growing in bamboo species so that the harvesting crop time is quite short around 2-3 years/crop. Yes, of course hollow bamboo(as moso, tolkin) - its own structure : real soft, easy to split, not walled thickness(not solid). There is tre gai solid bamboo, make a difference quality from hollow bamboo.
