On the other hand, solid bamboo has wall thickness and the node is very hard and strong, distance between nodes are shorter than moso or tolkin so that it is less cracking and  not easy to split. Its own structure is natural resistant against wood-boring beetle...

=> Water preservation:

 

All bamboo must be kept in a large underground tank of water for 60 days in normal temperature in order to remove all the insects inside bamboo finally. The preservative water proceeding makes bamboo more durable and sturdy.

After selection and bending, water preservation. All the dirt on surface of bamboo is remove by brushes careful ...

Morphology of tre gai

These bamboo clusters, 15-25 m length( ~20-45ft) with a range of diameters: 5- 8-12 -
14 cm, largest diameter bamboo up to 15-16cm (~2-inch,3-1/8.inch, 5-inch, 5-3/4.inch, 6-1/4.inch, 7-1/4.inch). Each node 25 - 30 cm length (~ 9.3/4-inch to 11.5/8inch) and 3/4.in - 1.1/2 inch thick wall. Green Color. It is curved on the tops and nearly the bottom , the nodes are covered around by roots. 

  At one year old, there is setea brown coated outside skin surface.

 At mature age, main nodes will be smooth surface, wall thickness. The branches crisscross by dense bush with sharp curved hard thorns.
